Information for you who have been tested for the coronavirus (Covid-19) at the test station in Orkland.

What happens next?

You are now about to take the test to see if you have been infected with the coronavirus (Covid-19).

Where can I find my test results?

You will find the result of the test at helsenorge.no by logging in with your Bank-ID. The results will be posted as soon as the test has been analysed and registered by the laboratory.

If you have problems finding the result at helsenorge.no, or if you have any questions about the result or your health, contact your regular GP by telephone.

What do I do after I have booked a test?

The main rule is that you must stay isolated in your home from the time when you ordered the test until you have received the result.

You must not go to work or school, do not take public transportation or go out into public areas. You must also keep a good distance from the other members of your household.

In case of a positive test result

If you test positive for the corona virus, you will be contacted to provide further instructions.

In case of a negative test result

If you test negative for the corona virus and are already in quarantine because you have been travelling abroad or because you have been in close contact with someone who has Covid-19, you must still complete your quarantine period.

This applies to the following persons:

  • All people who have travelled abroad and have been in countries that do not have an exemption from the quarantine requirements on arrival in Norway are to remain in home quarantine for 10 days after returning to Norway. Go to the website of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health to see
which countries are exempt from the quarantine requirements
  • Close contacts (members of your household or close contact with anyone with the Covid-19 virus are to remain in quarantine for 10 days following their last potential exposure to the virus.
  • If they are in regular contact with the infected household member, members of the household of an infected person are to remain in quarantine for 15 days after the last infected person in the household was isolated.

Important: Receiving negative test results does not shorten your time in quarantine.

We recommend that anyone showing symptoms of a respiratory infection remain at home until free of symptoms. We also recommend keeping one’s distance and practising good hygiene to avoid infecting anyone in your household. This is also important for preventing infections from other types of respiratory infection. You can go back to work, kindergarten or school when you feel that you are in good health and have a negative test result.

If you are being tested because you have been exposed to infection, but are not in quarantine and do not have symptoms, you can live as you normally would. But it is especially important that you keep your distance from others.

If you have symptoms you must stay home and order a new test.

For health personnel

Follow the procedures in place at your place of work. Special procedures (self-declaration form) apply to health personnel who have arrived from abroad.

What are close contacts?

”Close contacts” refers to people who have had close contact with a person who has been confirmed to be ill with the Covid-19 virus from 48 hours before the person had the first symptoms (when there are no symptoms from 48 hours before taking the test) and until the person is out of isolation.
